Playing this build
1Early preparation
With Colossal Crossbow, alternate safe firing and reloading. Use critical items early, but do not expect ammo recovery before the final evolution.
2Upgrades and transition
Use Scattershot Shooter's damage bonus to gunpowder shots. Improve sustained firing after Gunpowder Synthesis grants +35% critical chance and ammo recovery.
3Combat loop
- Keep using normal attacks from a distance where the spread actually hits enemies.
- Continue firing while watching the ammo returned by critical hits.
- When the magazine is empty, reload safely before firing again.
Boss fights
Do not get recklessly close to the boss just to land shots. If using Valter’s Work Monocle, account for its reduced critical damage when an enemy is within 3 tiles.
Without the core items
Without Valter’s Work Monocle, or when fighting up close, improve critical stats with Charm of Aspiration and Warm Stone. Improve reload speed with Crossbow Quiver in case you run out of ammo.
