03 · HOW TO PLAY

Playing this build

1Early preparation

Use the free Fire Arrow as your main offense from the Blade stage onward. Sword Strike's magic enhancement and the innate 30% magic critical bonus are not available yet.

2Upgrades and transition

With The Awaiting Azureblade, gather Sword Strike through sheathing to use the spell-casting bonus. After Yui's Short Dagger, focus on strengthening magic criticals.

3Combat loop

  1. Gather Sword Strike while sheathed and avoid enemy attacks.
  2. Once enough Sword Strike has gathered, cast spells during enemy openings.
  3. Stagger the cooldowns of your different spells. Casts with insufficient Sword Strike do not receive the damage bonus that consumes Sword Strike.

Boss fights

Stay sheathed at range to gather resources, then concentrate fire magic where the boss stops. Do not stay close for long using ordinary weapon attacks.

Without the core items

Without Jeweled Armor, supplement critical damage and Haste with Rylie’s Pocket Watch and Warm Stone. If fire magic is scarce, adjust elemental equipment to the element you actually obtain.
