03 · HOW TO PLAY

Playing this build

1Early preparation

Residual Lightning is unavailable at the Blade stage. Use the starting Storm Cloud and lightning magic, prioritizing evolution into Bronte over physical investment.

2Upgrades and transition

Thunder Sword 'Bronte' makes weapon attacks lightning-based. After Arges, turn natural lightning into a resource for strengthening Cloud Slash.

3Combat loop

  1. Fight within the range where Storm Cloud can fire natural lightning.
  2. Gather Residual Lightning through natural lightning and check for depletion.
  3. Spend it with Cloud Slash during a reliable attack opportunity, then build it again.

Boss fights

Build up while avoiding patterns at a distance where the cloud can attack. Use Cloud Slash according to actual openings and risks rather than always waiting for the maximum of 20.

Without the core items

Without Fretted Clay Tablet, supplement recovery with Lightning Rod and Sharp Acorn. If the cloud runs dry, fix its supply before improving speed with Model Mast.

Conditions to watch

  • Do not count forced lightning from Leaf Bird Leather or Flux Coupler as natural lightning that generates Residual Lightning.
  • Natural lightning that consumes no charge also builds Residual Lightning, but it cannot accumulate beyond 20.
  • Cloud Slash replaces sheathing. Do not take attacks expecting the original sheathed defense.
