03 · HOW TO PLAY
Playing this build
1Early preparation
With the Default Sword and Shield, progress using normal attack chains and Cleave after blocking from the front. Block and Cleave both consume MP, so keep enough MP for defense. Use the items prepared at the Wishing Fountain; the final weapon's unique effect becomes available after evolution.
2Upgrades and transition
Default Sword and Shield → Perfect Balance → Drifting Ash. Intermediate weapon effect: Attack speed increases by 15%, and normal attacks automatically block from the front. After the final evolution, combine the 60% increase in dash attack damage with the additional damage along the dash path. Attack while dashing through enemies, but leave room to escape after spending a dash charge.
3Combat loop
- Line up enemies and choose a path through them.
- Deal damage along the dash path and follow with a dash attack.
- From behind the enemies, watch their next attack pattern and attack again once dash charges recover.
Boss fights
Choose a path through the boss that will not leave you trapped against a wall or in a ground hazard. If only one dash remains, save it for escape rather than engagement.
Without the core items
Without Yakumo Short Blade, obtain damage and recovery separately through Windgrass Scarf and Compression Bandage.
